Does your job get in the way of doing writing projects?

Or do writing projects get in the way of doing your job?

Does the following story ring a bell?

You’re barely keeping your head above water, juggling meetings and deadlines. In the midst of it all, you are asked to write a presentation for an upcoming meeting.

How will you possibly fit that in?

You know it’s important, but how will you write it with everything else that’s going on?  You don’t want to lose this opportunity for getting your message out. You suspect, once again, that you’ll be working late this week.

Maybe it’s not a presentation. Maybe it’s a white paper or congressional testimony; a response to a proposal request or a marketing brochure; perhaps it’s a submission for grant money or a newsletter article. All you know is that all this writing gets in the way of your real job.

Imagine your work life without the stress of squeezing in myriad writing projects.

Wouldn’t it be great if writing didn’t interfere with the work you were hired to do? It doesn’t have to.
